About Sam Davis
Hi, I a web-geek from the UK who likes nothing more than spending the evening with a trusty glass of wine and a MySQL Database Management Book. Nah… don’t be silly, I’m not that bad, I don’t even drink alcohol!
My name is Sam Davis and I hail from Bournemouth, on the south coast of the United Kingdom. I grew up in the local area, attending Hill View Primary School and Bournemouth Grammar School (for my sins). Then, after working for Chrysalis for a bit, I went to university to study BSc (Hons) Multimedia Communications, graduating in 2005. Since then, I’ve been blogging on all things open-source, and developing a plethora of internet ventures with Bright Light Media.
Aside from the obvious interest in IT, I am a huge fan of music. I frequent small gig venues across the south every month in the hope of catching a band that I really like. I also like football, and play for Ferndown Locomotive FC and support AFC Bournemouth, neither of which is ever easy.
This blog is here to inform, educate, and entertain. I tend to write most things that are on my mind, and its also becoming a handy resource for to catalog the numerous scripts, code snippets, and software links which I would most probably otherwise forget. I am a huge fan of Magento, and my blog is aimed at promoting and helping users’ in their quest to tame the beast of an E-Commerce platform.
Oh, by the way, this web-site shaes the same name as a phrase that I frequently use if I am struggling with my web work. Whether an HTML page doesn’t look right, the analytics isn’t tracking any sales, or I’m just getting plain stressed - you can always be sure of one thing…
“I’m getting right pissed off with this Blasted Thing”!
And voila - welcome to the web site. Hope you enjoy it. I recommend you have a good read, and if you see anything that you’d like me to talk about - please do get in touch and I’ll email you back!
Kind Regards,
Sam Davis
