Banoffee Pie Makes Everything Better

Good morning – I thought I’d take the opportunity of a quiet Wednesday morning to tell you what I’ve been up to recently. I went to see a band called The Red Light Company at the Joiners last week, which was really good, yet really odd – it really wasn’t full at all. In fact there were more people there when Golden Section were supporting Joey Nightmare! Nevertheless, the gig was fantastic, and the few that went experienced some pretty good stuff. The band are still knocking on the door of the mainstream world right now, so it won’t be long – good luck to them, although Richard, I think you need to eat a bit more buddy!
On Friday I outscored a bloody ex-Dorset ten-pin bowler (twice) in Westbourne on a Ferndown Locomotive night out. If I hadn’t been so drunk, I’d have been more proud of my achievements! Then, on the following Sunday we played a team called Eurasat Lions, and beat them 4-1 – but bloody hell, I witnessed the most horrific injury that I have ever seen in my life – Edwardo style…
Jim Legg, Loco midfielder, went into a challenge, and in a blur, he fell to the ground and raised his leg to reveal something which I have never seen (and never want to see) ever again. His foot was completely disconnected from his leg, merely dangling, being held together by the skin and ligaments alone. I was physically sick, and pretty much distraught at this.
Anyway, I spoke to him today, and he’s in good hands in Poole Hospital – but we won’t expect to see him in a Loco shirt for a year or so. Jim mate, get well soon, gutting to see – I don’t think I’d have been as brave as you if that happened to me.
So, to sound completely pathetic, at the moment I’m nursing a nightmare sore throat and cold. I really hate sore throats more than any other common illness, mainly because they bring me down so much – I’d rather have a stabbing headache than this shit! Still, the upside of this is that hopefully my immune system will be right on top of things over Christmas, so I can enjoy it without the constant need of Venos.

Sophie, bless her cottons, made me a bloody massive banoffee pie the other day (my favourite) and that has certainly helped to cheer me up on what otherwise has been a rather uneventful number of Sam Davis days recently. She is so dedicated and helpful to me, and never fails to make me smile with all the little things she does, so, although I feel like a piece of excrement heath-wise, emotionally I am dancing! Thank you Sophie.
Going to get some of the Christmas shopping out the way early this year – anyone got any suggestions for the parents?
