Haven’t wrote a personal blog entry on this site for a while so I thought now was a good time to do so. I’ve had a nice start to 2009, with a lot of good things coming out of the first couple of months of the year – seems weird that we’re already in to March.

On the music scene, I’ve managed to get in a few bands already this year. We went to see Glasvegas at Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago, and it could well go down as one of the best gigs I have ever been to – they were completely outstanding – and to top it off Soph got the plectrum from James’ guitar.

Also have seen White Lies, who are literally incredible. The lead singer is fricking amazing, and the sound that the group make is spot on – these lot are going to easily be the best new band of this year and I can expect a Brit award to be heading their way in 2010. Their album is really good so I suggest you buy it now! We’ve also seen the Friendly Fires who were bloody mental – the lead singer is full of energy – so much so I got tired watching him. A few days later saw Snow Patrol in Bournemouth, who produced an ever-reliable tight sound as usual – they spiced up their gig with some pretty awesome visual effects which was a nice touch. Can’t help thinking that if I hadn’t seen Glasvegas on the Thursay, I wouldd have left this gig with more of a buzz than I did!

Next week seeing the Dykeenies in Southampton- I like this lot- been around for a while and very cultured, and again I think their tunes are pretty good – and plus it’s at a venue I’ve never been to before. I’ve added a couple of their tunes below for your listening pleasure…

Went to Bath on the “snow weekend” last month with Soph and had a well good time up there, staying at Garston Cottage in Bathford. Apart from the diabolical Saturday parking, I had a great time, and it was relaxing to get away from it all. Was a sweet view from our room with sheep and rolling hills from every angle. A particular highlight were the street entertainers, who thought it’d be cool to get naked and stick sparklers up their backsides… you couldn’t make it up.

Ooh, I’ve also joined Twitter. It’s like a scaled down Facebook which literally only informs people what you are doing. This suits me much better than having to scroll through the mass of crap Facebook come up with these days. Similarly, I’ve automated this blog to update Twitter every time I post a new article, which makes it ideal for getting more people clicking.

Started playing 6-a-side now on Wednesdays to keep the fitness going. After getting my Sundays back, I have started to feel the fitness pinch, despite having runs down the beach regularly – so I’ve joined my mate Chris’s team – and in my first game we drew 2-2 with the top of the league side that have averaged nine goals every game so far – love it.

Ooh I bought a Wii recently too – although Rich consistently beats me at tennis, so I need to get my shit together pretty quick. Am a dab hand at the bowling though – sweet as. We had a Wii party last week with Andy, Steph, Joelio, Soph and Rich – with a classic tennis video which I may well have to upload on Youtube soon.

Jeez, this blog post had saved thirty minutes of “me-chat” in the pub! I’ve MADE time.
