American Elections – Who Shouts Loudest Wins.

…pisses me off. Is it a democratic election, or some kind of over-hyped party where the best slogans get the biggest cheers? It concerns me that the “biggest force in the world” has got two candidates that consistently deliver speeches which completely lack any content. Their sole motivation is seemingly aimed at trying to see who can get the biggest whoops and claps from the oversized American crowds, half of which are only there because they want to get on TV too.
Banners, flags, music, smiles, handshakes… whatever happened to the policies? All the razzmatazz makes our politicial system over here in the UK look fricking amazing, and that even takes account for all our internal squabbling, philandering MP’s, and lurid cash-donation scandals.

Sometimes I can’t stand to watch the election dross, no matter how much the Channel 4 News team try to explain it, and indeed, some clips of Obama and McCain bear similarities to fellow car-crash TV stable-mate Kerry Katona and THAT This Morning interview – it’s difficult to take seriously.
May the best man win…
