Remove Product Tags from Magento Product Page

I can’t actually see the point in Magento’s Product Tags module. It is solely for customers to come along and be able to tag the product with words that the feel describes the item. I feel that this is a rather pointless part of the product page. Users are more likely to bookmark a web-site than use product tags like this…
So how do you remove them?
In Admin, just click System > Configuration > click on website (if using multiple themes) > Advanced > Disable “Mage_Tag”.
To also ensure this happens, you can comment out the code within tag.xml.
You may find you need to refresh the cache in order make sure these do not appear on your product page – but the above should work no problems at all. Let me know how you get on with this…

Hi,
Thanks for the tip. But I am having a different problem. I want to enable the “Add Tags” feature for my users (guest). But in magento I think tagging is enabled only for logged in users. As I have disabled the “Mage_Customers” module, so there is no concept of login and register.
So can u please tell me how to enable “Add Tag” for guest users.
I think the tags have value- one, it helps with seo to some degree, as it is basically an opportunity for keyword stuffing. Also, it may lead to further sales as a customer might browse through the tags and find something else.
My guess is customers won’t leave many tags, but if they do, it also is a window in to their thinking, and it gives you more keyword ideas.
I need help. can anyone tell me how to disable “campatison product ” option from home page in magento.
Cheers, worked fine, can’t see the point of tags either.
