Aruba – Pier Approach, Bournemouth

Arbua is located by Bournemouth Pier, where the old Showbar used to be, and it is a fantastic venue which really is a “must-go” attraction on a Friday or Saturday night. The drinking hole has a number of tremendous qualities, not least the clientelle that goes there – a very young, hip, and educated bunch. The beer it serves is brilliant.. well, not least the Banana Beer, which myself and Joel have fallen in love with – it is orgasmic.
Aruba has a big bar area is the middle of the “amphitheatre”, with seating around it, some in booths, and other tables scattered nicely elsewhere. There also is an outside area for casual drinking or daytime dining – a great place to go if you want a spectacular view of the pier and sea – it also is an amazing suntrap around lunchtime.

The music is less-eclectic than places such as 60 Million – it very much has a party feel about it – yet oddly, there is a lack of dancing in this place – almost like it is an unfashionable thing, so you often get people standing by the bar moving and shaking to the beat, but all whilst in conversation with their bunch of mates standing nearby – it really is weird.
Anyway, if you go there, ask for Matt Piovan, and tell him you were recommended to go to Aruba by Sam Davis – I might get a free beer some time
