Remove “English” From Page Title on Magento Product Page
Add to Favourites
|
I noticed that a common feature of all out-of-the-box Magento sites, is that the “Default Store View” is included in the Page Title on a product page. So you’ll have something along the lines of: “Puma Sports Bag – English”. Looks a bit crap – and these are the links that people click in Google!
Therefore it is highly likely that you may wish to have this either changed or removed. You can either go into:
System > Configuration > Manage Stores > Then change the Store Wiew name to what you want..
Or you may wish to get rid of it all together, in which case, there are two things you need to do. Firstly, in app/code/core/Mage/Catalog/Block/Product/View.php (for Product Page) or app/code/core/Mage/Catalog/Block/Category/View.php (for Category page), find…
$headBlock->setTitle($title.' '.Mage::getStoreConfig('catalog/seo/title_separator').' '.Mage::getStoreConfig('system/store/name'));
And change it to:
$headBlock->setTitle($title.' '.Mage::getStoreConfig('catalog/seo/title_separator'));
Sorted!
